Purpose

The 2025 Global Energy Parliament calls upon all Members of Parliament (MPs) to engage with a critical and timely theme:

“Inner Heat, Outer Heat: The Emotional Climate Shaping Our World”

We are witnessing rapid and parallel shifts in both human and environmental systems—rising emotional distress in individuals and populations, and increasing chemical imbalances in nature. Your written submission is an opportunity to reflect on these patterns, contribute to the scientific conversation, and help shape meaningful policy recommendations.

Who Can Submit?

All registered Members of Parliament (individuals or groups) for GEP 2025 are invited to submit a Written Submission.

All accepted submissions will be published.

Scientific Context

Global data shows a marked rise in emotional agitation, stress, and interpersonal conflict, particularly among young people. Simultaneously, Earth's chemical systems—soils, atmosphere, and water bodies—are undergoing unprecedented changes. These shifts are not unrelated. Read more in our Theme Statement.

What to Include in Your Submission

Please organize your submission into the following three parts:

1. Observations from Your Field

Describe changes you've seen over the last 5–10 years in your area of work or life related to:

  • Emotional states (e.g. increased anxiety, burnout, irritability, aggression)
  • Environmental chemistry (e.g. pollution, soil or water degradation, temperature shifts)

You may reflect on the changes and any interconnection between the two (e.g. how degraded air or food affects well-being or the reverse).

Note: Personal experiences are welcome, but should be clearly marked as such. Whenever possible, support observations with research, surveys, data, or professional reports.

2. Reflections on Scientific or Field-Based Evidence

Cite any research you’ve encountered—or conducted—that supports or challenges the trends above. This section places your ideas within the larger body of global knowledge and insight.

3. Policy or Program Recommendations

Propose actions that the Global Energy Parliament could recommend at a global or national level.
